“Each year Concord Board of Directors hosts this event to promote safety awareness in our community. The event also allows us to share our passion through educating the community in the benefits of the promotion and preservation of a cooperative way of life. The board receives donations from local businesses to help sponsor the event. During the event we raffle off bicycles, backpacks, and school supplies to those in attendance. Michigan Shriners Child Identification Program volunteers compose identification kits consisting of a picture, fingerprinting, and DNA swab for distribution to community members who wish to participate. All of this is in honor of celebrating the 2012 International Year of the Cooperative”
